No fight, just heal.

It was familiar for me to stand out in one way or another, so why should I question it now? I knew the cancer world intimately with my son’s journey and was left to surrender to all that would present with my own.

In my quest for information, the other stories either had too much unnecessary information or lacked any sense of positivity or motivation, even the ones labeled 'inspirational.’

I know all too well the words that surround an illness: battle, fight, or warrior. I did not like them; they handed the power over to the illness. Not where it should be; within us. I had to shed the labels, statistics, and constraints to work with my body, not against it. ‘No fight, just heal’ was my new mantra.
